Command line

With no arguments, PerchBar is the resident tray application. The rest of these exist because something else needs them — a pinned shortcut, a script, or you.

--group idopens that group and exits. This is what a pinned shortcut runs.
--group id --member nactivates or starts member n of that group. This is what a Jump List entry runs.
--group id --viewshows the group view even when the group has members ticked under Opens.
--groupsopens the Groups dialog without the tray icon, and tells a running PerchBar to reload afterwards.
--new-groupthe same, with a new group ready to name.
--settingsopens the global Hotkeys dialog the same way.
--make-shortcutsrewrites every group's shortcuts, including the pinned copies. Use it after moving PerchBar.exe.
--aboutthe About box on its own.
--quietsuppresses message boxes, so a script is never left waiting on one.

A group's id is not its name: it is a short slug allocated when the group is created and never changed, because it is part of the identity a pinned button carries. You can read it from the section headings in Groups.ini.
